IT'S BEEN 38YEARS LORD! (Part 3)
Hello TaiKeh Fams!
You're welcome to part 3 of our current series titled,
" IT'S BEEN 38 YEARS LORD! "
Our Bible text is taken from John 5:5 - 9
"And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
John 5:5-9 KJV

Jesus gave three commands to this man;
- RISE (Part 1)
- TAKE UP YOUR BED (Part 2)
- WALK
In the first and second series, we talked about the first two commands, that is -
RISE and TAKE UP YOUR BED
In today's series , we'll be discussing, "WALK"
Jesus told the man to get up, take his bed and lastly to start walking, meaning it's not enough for you to rise, and carry your bed, you need to walk - Move!
You need to walk away from the pool of depression, the pool of failure, pool of low-self esteem, pool of heartbreaks, and so many other kinds of pools
Your rising and the taking up of your bed won't be useful or meaningful if you don't move away from the same spot you've been in for years,
Besides, how would people outside the pool know you have been healed if you still decide to remain at the pool?
It would have been very bad if the man had received his healing but still decided to remain at the pool.
It sounds so unusual but that's what many of us do, we ask for so much from God and yet, when He answers us, we remain at the pool!
You need to rise above your challenges, take up your bed (experiences) , and walk with it!
You must walk with God. Carry God along in everything you do.
Walking with God is like walking with an elderly man, who loves to take His time, counting every step, putting one foot before the other, One hand resting on his walking stick and the other at his back. (Imagine walking with an old man or woman of about 80 years and above)
No matter how fast you decide to walk, you would still wait for Him in front.
But where's the fun in that?
Why not decide to walk at the pace of God?
Yes! Sometimes the situation may make God seem like an elderly man, who is too slow for your liking in getting you your answers or meeting up to your expectations,
But you need to know that God can never fail, He is the only one who knows your ending,
When you walk with God, both of you would converse and He would give you great ideas on what you need to do along the way,
The following are examples of people in the Bible who walked with God :
"... And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
.. "
Genesis 5:24 KJV

"... Noah was a righteous man [one who was just and had right standing with God], blameless in his [evil] generation; Noah walked (lived) [in habitual fellowship] with God.
"
Genesis 6:9 AMP

"... True instruction was in Levi’s mouth and injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from wickedness.
.. "
Malachi 2:6 AMP

To walk with God is to be at the same pace with Him. You don't walk faster than God and then expect Him to meet up with you. No!
Yes, you might need an immediate attention to a situation but God is saying " Walk at my pace"
When you walk at the pace of God, you will be able to get the wisdom, understanding you need.
You won't make mistakes
Peace shall fill your heart,
Divine secrets shall be revealed to you and many more.
But you have to agree to God's walking terms -
- Let God's pace determine your pace, Don't walk faster than Him,
God will not increase or decrease His pace to meet up with you - You are to do so.
- Walk and work for Him,
- Obey Him always
- Trust Him always, He alone knows what is in front, and what awaits you
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Amos 3:3 KJV

Watch out for part 4, some interesting things happened after the man got healed, you'll be amazed!
In God's Grip,
TaiKeh
