JESUS! WAKE UP!!! Series (Part 2)
Hello TaiKeh fams!
Welcome to part 2 of "Jesus! Wake up!!"
Without further ado, let's dive in. Haha
When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
Matthew 8:23 AMP

Jesus was the first person to enter the boat, and his innocent disciples followed suit.
While studying this verse, we asked ourselves, "How is it that Jesus, the All-knowing God,the Alpha and Omega, the One with all the wisdom, told His disciples to go when He knew a storm would arise?
The book of Mark records that Jesus told them to" go over unto other side"
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”
Mark 4:35 NIV

Little did they know that a storm would arise even when it was JESUS who told them to go there.
So YES, Jesus knew that there was going to be a storm, yet He told them to go to "the other side".
(By the way Your other side could mean so many things - Your career, marriage, business, etc something you are unfamiliar with yet you feel led to plunge into.)
The other side is the place you feel called to, yet so many storms dare to arise
It's that ministry, career, relationship, business, course of study, you know without a shadow of a doubt that God told you to go into.
You need to understand that storms arise not because God wants to punish you for a wrongdoing in the past or because He hates you, No!
Then why? Why do storms arise?
In this series, we shall be looking at the answers to that question, by God's grace
To begin with, Jesus told his disciples to go to the "other side" to teach us the fact that being a Christian doesn't exclude storms from coming your way,
John 16: 33 says : I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
John 16:33 AMP

Jesus wanted us to understand that when you give your life to Him, Oh boy!
The journey would not be an easy one.
He didn't want us to think things would automatically change because you've surrendered your life to Him, don't get us wrong, they will, but He will go THROUGH your challenges WITH you!
That's the difference.
Jesus told his disciples to go the "other side" and they obeyed. But did that change the weather system?
Did their obedience cause the storm to smile with them? Of course not!
The disciples were scared to death! But what happened? The one that made a difference in their boat that day was that Jesus was right there with them!
He didn't tell the disciples to go ahead in the boat and thereby leaving them stranded in the storm, No.
He entered right into the boat first, waiting for the storm to come.
In a nutshell, that you have given your life to Christ does not mean that you won't go through difficulties, pain, struggles etc.
However, our assurance as Christians is that we have a Father who would be right there with us in the storm!
Isaiah 43:2 says : When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
Isaiah 43:2 AMP

God promised that He would be never leave you nor forsake you,He has never failed before, He won't start with you!
Be rest assured... Peace Be Still!
In God's Grip,
TaiKeh Idahor
Amen
