JESUS! WAKE UP!!! Series (Part 3)

Hello TaiKeh Fams!

Welcome to part 3 of Jesus! WAKE UP!!!

We discussed in part two of Jesus! Wake Up series!!! on why storms do arise, we learnt that being a christian doesn't exclude storms from coming your way, storms of life would surely arise but, here's the fun fact - Jesus will be with you before, during and after that storm!

Here's a great place to shout Hallelujah!

Today we shall be discussing another reason storms arise,

BIBLE TEXT : Matthew 8:23‭-‬27

And after He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves; but He was sleeping. And they went and awakened Him, saying, Lord, rescue and preserve us! We are perishing!

And He said to them, Why are you timid and afraid, O you of little faith? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great and wonderful calm (a perfect peaceableness). And the men were stunned with bewildered wonder and marveled, saying, What kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!

Jesus and His disciples were on their way to Gadarenes/Gergesenes and in the middle of their journey, a storm arose and the funny thing is that, Jesus was sleeping!

The Bible tells us that, IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

 John 1:1 AMPC

According to the John 1:1, Jesus is the Word. This tells us that when the Word (Jesus) is sleeping in the boat of your life, storms are bound to arise.

Until you wake the Word up in your life, the storms will toss you to and fro like someone playing soccer.

You must not allow the word in you to be dormant, don't relent in meditating and studying of the scriptures.

Until the disciples woke up the Word (Jesus), the storms continued to rage.

When storms come at you, declare the Word against it (depression, anger, instability, temptation, sickness, etc)

Today, we encourage you to activate the Word in you, study and meditate on the scriptures because in it lies the key to calming your storm.

If the only thing you remember when a storm comes at you is Psalms 23, it will go a long way.

You may ask, how much of the Word do i need in me, for this storm to just go?

Well, it's not just about the number of scriptures you say that calms a storm, yes it matters, but Jesus said, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can speak to a mountain to go and it will obey" Meaning, declaring the Word of God against your storm without faith will keep the storms right there in your boat!

It will be as though you are talking to someone and the information you are passing across is entering his or her left ear and coming out through the other ear.

You must not doubt when declaring the word against the storms.

Don't say or think "How can this big storm go away just because i tell it to?"

How can i pay back this huge debt just because i decree Phil 4:19 against it?

How on earth can i be completely healed by just confessing,  "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him ; and with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

God assures us through His Word in the verses below,

" So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Isaiah 55:11 KJV

"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Job 22:28 KJV

In essence,  as far as the word has come out of your mouth, the storms must obey you and miracles are bound to happen!

Furthermore, imagine Jesus woke up to see the storm and started crying out in fear, like His disciples, what do you think the storm would have continued doing?

Rather He was bold, courageous and determined and He commanded the storm to cease.

When the disciples woke Jesus up, the first thing He asked them was, " Why are you timid and afraid?"

When the Word is sleeping in you, fear always creeps in and brings his brother along - doubt

Today Jesus is asking you, why are you afraid?

Jesus expects you not to be subjected to fear and doubt, even when the situation warrants it, all you need to do is to declare the Living Word!

So what are you still waiting for?

Go, Wake the word up now!

Declare it in your life by faith!

In God's Grip,

TaiKeh Idahor
