JESUS! WAKE UP!!! ( Part 8)
Hello TaiKeh fams!
Welcome to Part 8 of Jesus! Wake Up!!
In our previous post, we talked about how important it is to involve the Holy Spirit before making any decision, whether it is an important or trivial decision .
The Bible text is from Matthew 8:28-34 (MSG)
Bible Text : They landed in the country of the Gadarenes and were met by two madmen, victims of demons, coming out of the cemetery. The men had terrorized the region for so long that no one considered it safe to walk down that stretch of road anymore.
Seeing Jesus, the madmen screamed out, “What business do you have giving us a hard time? You’re the Son of God! You weren’t supposed to show up here yet!” Off in the distance a herd of pigs was browsing and rooting. The evil spirits begged Jesus, “If you kick us out of these men, let us live in the pigs.” Jesus said, “Go ahead, but get out of here!” Crazed, the pigs stampeded over a cliff into the sea and drowned.
Scared to death, the swineherds bolted. They told everyone back in town what had happened to the madmen and the pigs. Those who heard about it were angry about the drowned pigs. A mob formed and demanded that Jesus get out and not come back.

From the above text, isn't it interesting to note that the demons didn't want to be sent to hell fire but preferred to live in pigs?
Wow! Hell must be so terrible for the demons to chose to live in the pigs than to be cast to hell.
If demons fear hell so much, then we as Christians must not relent in being watchful and alert like the five wise virgins Jesus spoke about in Matthew 25 for the second coming of Jesus.
So how prepared are you for Jesus?
Furthermore, let's touch on the nature of animals that the swine herds were herding.
A swineherd is a person who raises and herds pigs as livestock.
Also, pigs are also known as Swines .
Did you know that pigs are actually smart and intelligent yet very stubborn?
The Pigs here represent people who choose to do things without involving God because they think they know it all so do not rely on God for anything.
And even when they do ask God for help, they have a backup plan just in case God's plan doesn't work according to their own timing.
In short they are pigheaded.
Surprisingly, pigs are naturally clean but they love to roll in the mud and are comfortable in being dirty.
They refer to Christians whom God has sanctified for His work but they choose to wallow in sin, they have accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour but they are not willing to accept the responsibilities that come with it, which is to live a holy life .
Now let's compare Sheep's to Pigs,
Sheep's are obedient and can recognize their leader just by the sound of his voice.
They represent Christians who love God and have chosen to obey Him when they hear God's voice, they obey Him.
Did you know that Sheep's are naturally dirty but try as much as possible to stay clean?
A sheep would never feel comfortable rolling in the mud, Because they take pride in being clean.
They refer to Christians who realize that all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God(Romans 3:23), and they try as much as possible to flee from all appearances of sin (1Thess. 5: 22)
Reflection:
Which one are you - A Sheep or a Pig?
In God's Grip,
