    FROMTHE WIDOWS DIARY

" Get dressed everyone, We are going to the hospital right now" I announced

They all looked at me confused

" Don't ask questions now, Please just do as I say, okay." I responded to their questioning looks

They simply obeyed and followed me out as I led them to the nearest hospital.

When we got to the hospital, we entered into the reception,  it was a large hospital, and by the looks of it, one could tell that it was a very expensive one.

When we got to the reception hall, there was a fair, young lady there .She welcomed us with a smile.

" Hello Ma'am, How may I help you please?"  the receptionist said

I stammered ".. I. I.. Please (I took a deep breath)... My children are sick and they need to be attended to immediately please."

" Okay ma, Please I would need you to kindly fill these forms" She said and passed some forms to me to fill.

" But first, Please You have to pay to get a family card for your family ".

I struggled to find my voice, My hands trembled, I was so nervous to collect the card from her.

I am here, What's next? You didn't tell me there was going to be some money to pay

I looked up dramatically to the ceiling as though the second coming of Jesus was going to be this very moment.

Yes! I expected Jesus to come down from His high horse and pay the bills, where did He expect me to get the money? My mind battled with anxiety, It was too late, It was already seeping down my lungs.

" Sorry, Madam,, I can help you fill out the form if you are unable to write." The receptionist said kindly

" Oh no, It's not that I can't write, someone told me to bring my children here but.."

She smiled and said " Oh Yes! This hospital is one of the best in the country, our services speak for us Ma'am, we are reliable, efficient and ... "

" Yes, but… " I interrupted politely

" But... But what?" She inquired

I looked over at my children who were already seated in the hall, they were obviously fascinated by the big size of the hospital.

How would I tell them that they could not receive medical care because I could not afford it.

" Ma'am…. Ma'am "

I jolted back

" Sorry, I think I got the hospitals mixed up," I pleaded and turned to take my leave.

The receptionist came out from the counter and rushed to me.

" Please don't go Ma'am, I think I know who sent you" she quietly said

God told me today on my way to work here that I was to help a family, I was confused before but now I get it. God wants me to help your family. Don't worry about the bills Ma'am, I would take care of it from my paycheck " She explained.

I was surprised, I bit my lower lips in awe of God as pools of water like the rivers of Babylon flowed down my already tired face. I didn't know when I pulled her in a warm embrace

"Thank you Ma'am, God richly bless You. Thank you Ma'am, God richly bless You " That was all I could say, I kept on repeating it over and over again

I walked over to my children in excitement and beckoned on them to follow me see the doctor.

" Ma'am, This is serious, Your children need to be admitted with immediate effect, It's a wonder how they are still able to move their bodies. You don't look too well yourself, You also need to be admitted please"  The young male doctor said to me in concern

" But Mum, Who is going to foot the bills if we get admitted here?" one of my sons held my hand and asked me curiously.

" God already paid, Son" I smiled so wide. " God already paid" he said thoughtfully.
