  Happy Valentine's Day! Each year we would send a lovey-dovey text and surprise gifts to our mum on February 14th to celebrate Valentine's Day.  This year Valentine's Day hits differently though. First thing in the morning, we get a notification on our phones from Google Photos on the previous year's Valentine's Day picture we designed for our mum which brought tears to our eyes. Tears, because we miss her every second of our lives but also tears of joy because, she is experiencing the PUREST and GREATEST form of love ever from the originator of love Himself, Jesus! In the same vein, today we surprised our our younger brothers like we would do to our mum. Truly, it is the little things that matters and make lasting memories.  Perhaps you have lost a loved one too and have no one to share this special day with, be comforted that your loved one is in the presence of Jesus and is basking in HIS love.  We are our Mother's Legacy ✊  TaiKeh Twins

  We recently watched #TheWait (2021), a Nigerian faith based drama directed by  Yemi Morafa and Fiyin Gambo. The film starred Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ini Dima-Okojie and Jimmy Odukoya in the lead roles. The movie is based on God's Waiting Room, a faith based book written by Yewande Zaccheaus As we watched this movie, we were reminded that; ✅ Sometimes the answers to our prayers don't come in the way we envisaged. This does not mean that God did not answer our prayers but that, "God's ways are not OUR ways". The couples in the movie had been looking unto God for children and God answered them all in DIFFERENT ways, it didn't come in the ways they all planned it would. (Adoption, Surrogate, IVF etc) It was until they came to a place of ACCEPTANCE and PEACE of their current situation that they could hear God on the next steps to take to receive their blessings. KEEP ON LIMPING EP2: -------------------------------------- If anyone had told us that we would know the length, breadth, and height of a pain as deep as this, we would have rebuked them in the name of Jesus. But, here we are 4 months into this journey, and we are sitting side by side with pain. However, we have proposed in our hearts to stop sitting with this pain, it is just too painful. We would have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. We don't care how slow we walk, life has taught us that the race is not to the swift. We don't care if others go ahead of us,  We don't care what people say about how we "walk" our life, it is not their limp, it is our limp. It is better to limp than to be stagnant. We would get to our destination one day and even if we don't, we would rest in the fact that at least we did not stop on the way. We would keep on walking with our limp. Picture of Taiye and Kehinde at Mama's burial 4 months ago, an unwanted visitor barged into the living room of our hearts and sat down on the couches of our souls. It didn't come alone, He came with his friends such as pain, deep hurt, anger, discouragement, sadness, anxiety, etc. We are like wounded lions who got shot in the leg and now limp with one leg.  When we look at the journey set before us, we are too exhausted to keep going. How do we move forward with this deep-rooted pain in our hearts? We tell you, no Morphin can numb this pain! We look to the Heavens, we searched for meaning in all of this, to find God but it seems like He has tucked Himself in the clouds and no one can find Him! Where is the God that made Joseph forget all his afflictions? Where is the God that answered Hannah? Where is the God that made Sarah laugh? Where is the God that gives joy for sorrow? Why has He gone silent on us? Silence. No response.   Strength has failed us, Faith has failed us, Hope...

Our mom is one of our major motivators in doing these skits , yes God is our motivation... 🙄🙄but like our physical motivation is our mom as she watches each video before they get posted, gives us constructive feedback, and above all, she PRAYS for the viewers, yes she prays for you. How much the skits would bless your life and so much more. However, when our mom transitioned, it seemed like all our will and energy to keep doing these skits transitioned with her, we felt like our one of key motivations is no more. So we prayed and then also sought counsel from some people, while some gave us cliches as to why we should keep on doing these skits , like "God is your motivation....keep on having faith and we were like 🙄🙄Can we be practical, please? 😂😂 Others were realistic and admitted it is pretty difficult and moved on to pray with us. Today we are reminded again through this verse below- "I learned that the best thing for people to do is to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live." They all started mentioning countries like America, Dubai, U.K, Canada and the likes. Majority of them said America, so we went with America for the purpose of this discussion.  As many of you may be aware, our mom is an educationist by profession. (In case you are wondering why we are speaking about Mama in the present tense, here's why, we believe that our mom is very much alive with Christ in Heaven and even in our hearts. So she is not in our past but she is still a huge part of our present) She loves children so much and we cannot say how privileged every child she has ever taught is, because she has prayed and prophesied greatness and so much blessings into their destinies.  We are so confident that all those who passed through her tutelage are highly blessed.  Mama would remember them in her midnight and morning prayers especially when she notices a child is not doing so well academically, spiritually, health wise, and emotionally. Either they were in Australia or in the Sahara desert.  They give so many excuses as to why they could not reach out to you when you needed them the most.  Frankly, while those excuses might be valid, it is also a clear indicator as to where you stand on their priority list. We are two young ladies with a zeal and passion for glorifying God in and through everything we have been given. Whether that means through our pains and grief. In March 2022, our dear mother went to be with Jesus and while she has given us a great foundation on Christ, we found ourselves at a thin line or should we say at a cross road. At that invisible line between standing in faith or turning against everything we once believed We asked and still ask so many questions. Does this God even exist? If He does, why didn't He raise our mom back to life? Why did He allow this to happen? And we cannot say for sure that we have all the answers but there are several things the HolySpirit quietly drops in our Spirit to comfort us.   HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY?  When asked this question, we have a hard time answering, because we're wondering whether to give the general "fine, and you? or the " we are blessed, we thank God"  OR, the REAL answer. Here's the REAL one We feel like a broken dam, where the tears keeps gushing, we cry torrents of tears, It just won't stop. We feel like we were hit by a train full of sadness, despair, anger etc. We feel like our heart is broken into so many pieces and its sharp edges keep piercing us.  We feel numb too, when images of the last time we had with our Mom fills our minds. That are times when we just stare so hard at anything, the sky or the floor, thinking about Mama and we are so lost in our thoughts. We feel like the time should just stop! How did we get to June already? We are not even in the mood to wish anyone a Happy New Month.  We feel like the world has moved on and we are like,  Can God just pause everything? Can the sun just stand still?...

  3. ANALYZERS: These type of people analyze the events of that day and draw up conclusions that ties the transition of the loved one to something. Most times, it is VERY annoying to stay in the same space with these set of people because they often say things that would trigger extreme grief and sadness in the hearts of the bereaved.  Try your best to avoid these type of people.   Personal Thought: "Ms./Mr. I-too know, we know you love to analyse things but please try to empathize. Your profound analysis may not be the best thing the bereaved needs at the moment. It's not everything you analyze, be calming down okay" 4. SILENT ONES: These set of people see your WhatsApp status, Instagram posts, Facebook Posts and the likes about the transition of your loved one and do not say a word, like NOTHING.   Personal Thought: " Hmm, May Jesus not be silent on your case o."     Hello YOU! Today we would be talking about the different types of people we've encountered during this season of our mum departure. Learn and be blessed! 1. SHOUTERS: When they hear the news of the transition of your loved one, they start shouting at the top of their lungs. For example, when we informed one of our mum's friends. As soon as we broke the news to her, She shouted, grabbed us and squeezed the lives out of us, you needed to see how we were scrambling for oxygen.  She was crying so hard  and yes, we were fighting so hard to hold back our tears. Ever since, we decided that meeting people one-on-one to inform them was removed from our options.   2. INTERVIEWERS/JOURNALISTS: These type of people ask soo many questions at once like:  How did it happen?, Was she sick before?, Is it true what I heard? What are you going to do now? etc Unfortunately, these people are asking questions to satisfy their OWN curiosity without thinking of the pain it is ...

  We've always had big dreams and most of them if not all had our mother in the picture.  But when our mom transitioned, it shook the core of our dreams and it seems like all those plans and dreams have crumbled completely. We were a bit scared to dream big dreams again. We mean we made plans, we had big dreams and imagined a great future WITH our Mom. But with her departure, we didn't see the need in dreaming big dreams anymore.  When God would just toss it aside sooner or later on without our permission? Why bother? Let him just do what he wants. That's how we felt. But the Holyspirit began to speak and remind us, That we have got to get to a level where we say- "We are okay with God coming in and changing our plans completely" Now this isn't only to those who are grieving but those who even aren't. This is because, we all make plans and dream dreams but let us tell you something,  God is the biggest surpriser ever! (Surprised?) So God is not telling us ...

  When our Mom went to be with Jesus, we began to ask a thousand and one question. Why did God allow this? Was this an attack? Was this from the devil? And so mu ch more. We cried and cried because of the pain and hurt, it feels like a bullet or dagger passing through your heart and coming out again. To be honest, we were a bit confused when it all happened. One minute, our mom is discussing the sermon she's going to preach for the evening service with us and the next few hours, we are holding her calm, still and lifeless body in my arms, praying and cry out to God to do something, anything! The word is CONFUSED. Yes, we were confused as to what was going on,  We mean, God never mentioned this, we understand Elijah perfectly when he said   “...Let her alone, for her soul is desperate and troubled within her; and the Lord has hidden the reason from me and has not told me.” 2 Kings 4:27  For sometime, we were stuck in trying to find out the reason, why it happened...

 "I'm not afraid of death"  "Really? Why" "Because if I die now, I know where I'm going to" This was a flashback to a conversation we had with our mother. We remember that anytime we talked about the subject of death with our mum, Mama, She was always so bold. Her confidence remained in Jesus that she had fulfilled purpose and her crowns were waiting for her. Have you noticed that no one really talks about death? 🤔 We don't mean to scare you by talking about it now but hey...there are two things that are two constants in each day. Everyday people die and go to Heaven or Hell. Secondly, everyday babies are born. Dear friend, live a life prepared for Heaven.  If you die today, where are you going to? Heaven or Hell.  Hello TaiKeh fams! Today makes it 2 months that our dear mother (fondly called Mama) went to be with God. As we mourned our great loss, the HolySpirit has not ceased to comfort us. It is with His comfort and encouragement that we can share this with you. We have come to the realization that the measure of the quality of a man's life is not in the number of years he spends on Earth. It is in how much fulfillment that has happened in regards to what God wrote concerning him or her before he or she was born. If birthdays are all you celebrate on earth, you would be slow with God.  This is because, God does not work with human time.
